On October 26th, 2013 I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as the result of a hit-and-run while riding my bicycle home from work.

At the time of my accident, I was the Olympic Team Coach for USA Triathlon, based out of the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Still an elite endurance athlete myself, I was training for the fastest known time (FKT) on both the Nolan’s 14 and the John Muir Trail (JMT).

After my brain injury, I was introduced to photography as a form of art therapy, and what initially started as a tool for healing quickly became my passion. It is through this medium that I can share with others what I am seeing, feeling and experiencing.

Photography is the cornerstone of both my healing journey and the new life I am working to build. A life that will allow me to navigate the unique challenges I face as a TBI survivor, while providing me with a sense of meaning and purpose.
